The mixture is usually poured into a square pan, chilled in the fridge until hardened, and then sliced into mini squares with added sprinkles of fine cocoa powder or other toppings.

Of course, we just had to try this out with matcha. We tried it using white chocolate since it is has a mild flavor that will not overwhelm the matcha taste. We found these tips from  Just One Cookbook’s  incredibly helpful:

  • If you’re using white chocolates, get the ones that contain cocoa butter , and not vegetable fat.
  • Do not overheat the white chocolates because this will cause separation (oil coming out of the chocolate). Only simmer the white chocolates over gentle heat and stir frequently until evenly melt.
  • You have to quickly stir the white chocolate and butter while the heavy cream is still warm. Otherwise, it’ll start to solidify and it’ll be harder to mix.
  • You can store the Matcha Nama Chocolates for up to 4 days in the fridge, and up to 1 month in the freezer.
