Lower quality matcha is so bitter that you need lots of sweetener for it to taste good. This matcha is much lower in bitterness and has a lovely aroma so you need much less sweetener when making matcha.

For context on my personal preference - I have been drinking matcha latte almost daily for about a year now. I started with Chamberlin matcha, then Jade leaf, and a few other random ones but the best was UJI CULINARY MATCHA - MATSU KAZE. The best was also based in Canada and required a huge order for free shipping so I wanted to try something else.
I like adding honey or cold foam or both to my matcha lattes and this matcha is SMOOTH but the taste throws me off. It’s got a note that feels like someone squeezed a pinch of orange and grapefruit or something into my drink. I don’t hate it but it’s not my preference so if you like that kinda of matcha, I recommend but I will not be getting this particular flavor again.
