New to matcha

If you’re new to matcha, you cannot go wrong with our Superior Ceremonial Blend. It’s got that classic matcha flavor without being too strong. This is the first blend we brought online nearly 3 years ago.

Matcha tea

All our Ceremonial Grade blends can be enjoyed as matcha tea. However, we think the best blends for tea are our Seasonal Ceremonial Blend and our Silver Yame Blend. Whether you like traditionally prepared matcha or your own version of matcha tea, each blend offers a truly different flavor profile. The Seasonal Ceremonial Blend has a nutty flavor with balanced, subtle umami notes. In comparison, the Silver Yame blend has an almost fruity sweetness and a creamy, buttery texture. Look out also for our upcoming Master’s Collection, which will feature one of a kind, limited edition blends.

Iced Matcha Lattes

Things get more interesting because of the sheer number of possibilities here. We found that our Organic Ceremonial blend goes superbly with oat milk and other plant milks. If you prefer using cow’s milk, the Superior Ceremonial Blend would be our recommended choice.

If you like matcha lattes, we have also created a resource page that shows our matcha latte recipes and some FAQs related to matcha lattes.

Cold brew matcha

Goodbye coffee, hello matcha. We saw that “cold brew” matcha (matcha and cold water) have become quite popular, so we made a blend for that. It’s smooth, light and refreshing, and just perfect for a hot day!

Matcha Smoothies and Bakes

For smoothies and other creations where there are fewer ingredients involved (like puddings, tiramisu or ice cream), we like to use the Superior Ceremonial Blend. If there are fewer ingredients involved in a recipe, any bitterness in matcha becomes quite apparent, so a good tasting blend is key. For everything else where matcha only plays a supporting role (like cakes, cookies and brownies), we recommend our Creative Culinary Blend.

Hot Matcha Lattes

Steamed milk becomes naturally sweet, so you don’t have to worry much about how bitter the matcha is. If you will mostly be making hot matcha lattes, go for our Superior Ceremonial Blend. It’s the tasty and economical choice.
